미 대법원 “트럼프 대선 출마자격 유지” > 세계

미국 연방 대법원이 4일 유력한 공화당 대통령 후보인 도널드 트럼프 전 대통령에 대해 출마를 허용하는 판결을 내렸습니다.

연방대법원은 이날 공개한 결정문에서 미국 헌법은 연방 공직자와 후보자에 대한 자격 판단의 책임을 주정부가 아닌 연방의회에 부여하고 있다며 헌법 14조에 따라 자격을 박탈하려면 그 기준과 방식에 대한 법안이 연방의회에서 통과돼야 밝혔습니다.

앞서 트럼프 전 대통령은 2021년 연방의사당 난입사건 당시 폭력과 불법적인 행동을 선동했다는 이유로 콜로라도주 대법원이 대통령직을 수행할 수 없다고 판결하자 이에 불복해 연방대법원에 상소했었습니다.
Former President Trump had previously appealed to the Supreme Court in defiance of Colorado's ruling that he could not serve as president for inciting violence and unlawful conduct during the 2021 storming of the federal Capitol.
