UN·EU·영국·캐나다 “북한 탄도미사일 발사 규탄…비핵화 대화 복귀해야” > 정치

유엔과 유럽연합(EU), 영국, 캐나다가 닷새 동안 세 차례 미사일 도발을 감행한 북한을 거듭 규탄했습니다. 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의를 위반했다며 북한에 비핵화 대화에 복귀하라고 촉구했습니다. 조상진 기자가 보도합니다.
The United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada have repeatedly condemned North Korea for conducting three missile provocations in five days. He urged North Korea to return to denuclearization talks, saying it violated the U.N. Security Council resolution. Reporter Cho Sang-jin reports.

유엔은 북한이 25일과 28일에 이어 29일 또다시 탄도미사일을 발사한 데 대해 “탄도미사일 기술을 이용한 북한의 지속적인 미사일 시험은 그런 활동을 중단하라는 안보리 결의를 계속 무시하는 것”이라고 지적했습니다.
Regarding North Korea's launch of ballistic missiles again on the 29th following the 25th and 28th, the United Nations pointed out that "North Korea's continuous missile testing using ballistic missile technology continues to ignore the Security Council's resolution to stop such activities."

유엔 대변인실은 30일 VOA에 “유엔 사무총장은 북한이 지속 가능한 평화와 한반도의 완전하고 검증 가능한 비핵화 달성을 위해 주요 당사국들과 대화를 재개할 것을 촉구한다”면서 이렇게 밝혔습니다.
The UN spokesman's office told VOA on the 30th, "The UN Secretary-General urges North Korea to resume dialogue with major parties to achieve sustainable peace and complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula."

이어 “한반도 정세는 비핵화와 지속 가능한 평화를 달성하기 위한 새로운 외교적 노력이 필요하다는 점을 분명히 보여준다”고 강조했습니다.

유럽연합(EU)도 북한의 연이은 탄도미사일 발사를 강하게 비판했습니다.
The European Union (EU) also strongly criticized North Korea's series of ballistic missile launches.

[EU 대변인실] “The EU condemns the repeated launch of ballistic missiles, which are yet another blatant violation of its obligations under UN Security Council resolutions. The pursuit of unlawful weapons systems will not bring sustainable security or help the people of the DPRK.”

유럽연합 대변인실은 30일 VOA의 논평 요청에 “EU는 반복된 탄도미사일 발사를 규탄한다”며, “이는 유엔 안보리 결의에 따른 의무에 대한 또 다른 노골적인 위반”이라고 지적했습니다.
The European Union spokesman's office said in a VOA request for comment on the 30th, "The EU condemns repeated ballistic missile launches," adding, "This is another blatant violation of the obligations under the UN Security Council resolutions."

이어 “불법적인 무기 체계를 추구하는 것은 지속 가능한 안보를 가져오거나 북한 주민들을 돕지 못할 것”이라고 덧붙였습니다.
He added, "The pursuit of an illegal weapons system will not bring sustainable security or help North Koreans."

또한 “한반도의 지속 가능한 평화와 안보를 위한 유일한 길은 북한이 불안정한 행동을 중단하고 주요 당사국들과 대화를 재개하며, 핵무기와 탄도미사일, 그리고 관련 프로그램을 완전하고 검증 가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 방식으로 포기하는 조치를 취하는 것”이라고 말했습니다.
"The only way for sustainable peace and security on the Korean Peninsula is for North Korea to stop unstable behavior, resume dialogue with key parties, and abandon nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, and related programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner," he said.

영국 정부는 “29일 유엔 안보리 결의를 위반하고 탄도미사일 추가 실험을 감행한 북한의 결정에 깊이 우려한다”고 밝혔습니다.
The British government said, "We are deeply concerned about North Korea's decision to conduct additional ballistic missile tests in violation of the U.N. Security Council resolution on the 29th."

영국 외무부는 30일 대변인 명의의 성명을 통해 “우리는 북한이 도발을 자제하고 완전하고 검증 가능하며 돌이킬 수 없는 비핵화(CVID)를 위한 구체적 조치를 취할 것을 촉구한다”고 말했습니다.
The British Foreign Ministry said in a statement in the name of its spokesman on the 30th, "We urge North Korea to refrain from provocations and take concrete steps toward a complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization (CVID)."

이어 “영국은 우리의 동맹국, 파트너들과 함께 한반도 평화에 전념하고 있으며, 규칙에 기반을 둔 국제 시스템을 유지하고 북한의 불법 행위를 종식시키기 위해 노력하고 있다”고 강조했습니다.
"The United Kingdom, along with our allies and partners, is committed to peace on the Korean Peninsula and is striving to maintain a rules-based international system and end North Korea's illegal activities," he stressed.

아울러 “우리는 북한이 미국과의 대화에 복귀할 것을 강력히 촉구한다”고 덧붙였습니다.
"We strongly urge North Korea to return to dialogue with the United States," he added.

캐나다 정부도 VOA에 “캐나다는 북한의 거듭된 미사일 시험발사를 강력히 규탄한다”는 입장을 전했습니다.
The Canadian government also told VOA that "Canada strongly condemns North Korea's repeated missile tests."

이어 “북한의 대량살상무기와 탄도미사일 프로그램에 대한 완전하고 검증가능하며 되돌릴 수 없는 폐기를 향한 노력을 지지하며, 이를 달성하기 위한 동맹, 파트너들과의 협력에 전념하고 있다”고 덧붙였습니다.
"We support efforts toward a complete, verifiable and irreversible dismantlement of North Korea's WMD and ballistic missile programs, and we are committed to working with our allies and partners to achieve this," he added.

앞서 북한은 지난 29일 평안남도 순천 일대에서 동해상으로 단거리 탄도미사일 2발을 발사했습니다.
Earlier on the 29th, North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles from Suncheon, South Pyongan Province, into the East Sea.

북한은 전날인 28일에도 평양 순안 일대에서 동해상으로 단거리 탄도미사일 2발을 쐈으며, 지난 25일에는 지대지 단거리 탄도미사일 1발을 평북 태천 일대에서 발사해, 최근 닷새 동안 세 차례 미사일을 발사했습니다.
On the 28th, the previous day, North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea from Sunan, Pyongyang, and on the 25th, it fired one short-range ballistic missile from Taecheon, Pyeongbuk, three times in the last five days.
