미국의 우주 기업 '인튜이티브 머신스'는 22일 자사가 제작한 무인 달 착륙선 '오디세우스'가 달 착륙에 성공했다며 탐사선이 수직으로 서 있다고 밝혔는데, 하루 뒤인 23일 이 발표를 수정했습니다.

1억 1천 8백만 달러를 지원하며 이번 달 탐사선 발사를 의뢰한 미 항공우주국(NASA)은 향후 우주비행사의 달 착륙 프로그램을 위해 최대한 달 남극에 근접해 착륙하는 것을 계획하고 있습니다.
NASA, which funded $118 million and commissioned the launch of the probe this month, plans to land as close to the lunar south pole as possible for future astronauts' lunar landing programs.

NASA는 오디세우스에 탑재된 과학 장비들을 통해서 데이터를 수집하고, 2026년 우주비행사들을 달에 보내는 유인 달 탐사 프로젝트에 해당 데이터를 활용한다는 계획입니다.
