미얀마 군부의 쿠데타로 축출된 원 민 전 대통령은 지난 2월 1일 쿠데타 당일 군부가 자신에게 사임하라고 협박했다고 12일 밝혔습니다.
Former President Won Min, who was ousted by the Myanmar military's coup, said on the 12th that the military threatened him to resign on the day of the coup on February 1.

미국 'CNN' 방송 등은 원 민 전 대통령이 전날 수도 네피도에서 열린 선동죄 재판 특별법정에 출석해 이같이 밝혔다고 변호인의 말을 인용해 보도했습니다.
CNN in the U.S. quoted a lawyer as saying that former President Won Min made the remarks at a special court for agitation in Nepido, the capital, the previous day.

원 민 전 대통령의 증언은 앞서 쿠데타 혐의 자체를 부인하며, 권력은 합법적으로 대통령 대행에 의해 군부에 이양됐다는 군부의 주장과 배치되는 내용입니다.
Former President Won Min's testimony denies the coup charges itself and contradicts the military's claim that power was legally transferred to the military by acting president.

원 민 전 대통령 측 변호인은 외신기자들에게 “쿠데타 당일 오전 고위 장교 2명이 대통령 관저로 들어와 건강이 좋지 않다는 이유를 들어 자리에서 물러나라고 요구했지만 원 민 전 대통령은 이를 거부했다”고 밝혔습니다.
Former President Won Min's lawyer told foreign reporters, "Two high-ranking officers entered the presidential residence on the morning of the coup and demanded that they step down because of poor health, but former President Won Min refused."

변호인은 또 군부는 “제안을 거절하면 큰 해를 입을 것이라고 경고했다”며, “그러나 윈 민 대통령은 제안에 동의하느니 차라리 죽겠다고 말했다”고 전했습니다.
The lawyer also said, "The military warned that rejecting the proposal would cause great harm," adding, "But President Winmin said he would rather die than agree to the proposal."

앞서 미얀마 군부는 지난해 11월 치른 총선이 부정선거였다고 주장하며, 지난 2월 1일 원 민 대통령을 구금하고 군 출신인 민 쉐 부통령이 비상사태를 선포해 권력을 장악했습니다.
Earlier, the Myanmar military claimed that the general election held in November last year was a fraudulent election, and on February 1, Vice President Min She, a former military member, detained President Won Min and took power by declaring a state of emergency.
