미, 아프간 '테러대응-인도적 지원' 필요 확인 > 세계

조 바이든 미국 대통령은 12일 열린 주요 20개국(G20) 화상 정상회의에서 아프간에서의 대테러전 공조와 인도주의 지원 필요성을 강조했습니다.
At the G20 video summit held on the 12th, U.S. President Joe Biden stressed the need for cooperation in counter-terrorism and humanitarian support in Afghanistan.

젠 사키 백악관 대변인은 기자들에게 이번 회의는 “대테러전 공조 노력과 국제 인도주의 지원을 논의하기 위한 건설적인 기회"라고 설명했습니다.
White House spokesman Gen. Saki explained to reporters that the meeting is "a constructive opportunity to discuss cooperation efforts against terrorism and support international humanitarianism."

사키 대변인은 또 미국은 아프간 상황에 대처하고 주민들을 지원하기 위해 외교적, 인도주의적, 경제적 수단을 활용하는데 계속해서 국제사회와 함께 긴밀히 공조하고 있다고 말했습니다.
Saki also said the United States continues to work closely with the international community to cope with the Afghan situation and use diplomatic, humanitarian, and economic means to support its residents.

바이든 대통령은 이날 회의에서 아프간에 대한 구체적인 지원 내역에 대해 언급하지 않았습니다.
President Biden did not mention specific details of support for Afghanistan at the meeting.

하지만 사키 대변인은 “미국은 이미 단일국가로서는 가장 큰 기여국”이라며, 올해 들어서만 3억 3천만 달러를 지원한 점을 거론했습니다.
However, Saki said, "The United States is already the biggest contributor to a single country," citing the fact that it has provided $330 million this year alone.

이어 미국은 “계속해서 아프간 주민들의 고통을 완화하기 위해 노력할 것”이라며, “미국은 핵심적인 지원을 조달하기 위해 다른 기여국들이 적극적으로 나서도록 촉구한다”고 말했습니다.
The U.S. will continue to make efforts to alleviate the pain of Afghan residents, he said. "The U.S. urges other contributors to actively step up to procure key support."

안토니우 구테흐스 유엔 사무총장은 이날 회의에서 아프간의 정세를 폭풍으로 묘사하며, “당장 국제사회가 행동에 나서지 않는다면 전 세계가 값비싼 대가를 치를 것”이라고 경고했습니다.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the situation in Afghanistan as a storm at the meeting and warned, "If the international community does not take action right away, the world will pay a high price."

한편 탈레반이 아프간을 장악하기 이전 아프간 정부는 지출의 75%를 국제적 지원에 의존했지만, 현재 각국 정부와 국제기구들은 지원을 중단하고 아프간의 자산을 동결한 한 상태입니다.
