유럽의회 보고서 “북한 무기 러시아 이전 강력 규탄…차단 시급” > 정치

유럽의회는 최근 채택한 외교 국방 보고서에서 북러 무기거래를 강력히 규탄하며 양국 군사협력 차단의 시급성을 강조했습니다. 한국,일본 등 인도태평양 국가들과의 협력 강화도 촉구했습니다. 조은정 기자가 보도합니다.
In its recently adopted diplomatic and defense report, the European Parliament strongly condemned the North Korea-Russia arms trade and stressed the urgent need to block bilateral military cooperation. 유럽의회는 28일 채택한 ‘공동 안보∙국방 정책 이행에 대한 2023 연례 보고서’에서 북러 무기 거래를 강력히 규탄했습니다.
The European Parliament strongly condemned the North Korea-Russia arms trade in its 2023 Annual Report on the Implementation of Joint Security and Defense Policies adopted on the 28th.

유럽의회가 이날 프랑스 스트라스부르그에서 열린 본회의에서 찬성 350대 반대 91, 기권 96표로 채택한 이 보고서는 “최근 북한과 러시아 정상 간의 만남에 대해 깊은 우려를 표명한다”고 밝혔습니다.
The report, adopted by the European Parliament at a plenary session in Strasbourg, France, with 91 votes in favor of 350 and 96 abstentions, said, "We express our deep concern about the recent meeting between the leaders of North Korea and Russia."

"We strongly condemn the delivery of North Korean weapons and ballistic missiles used in the war against Ukraine to Russia, and point out that Russia is violating UN sanctions and resolutions through strengthening military cooperation," he said.

유럽의회가 이날 찬성 338대 반대 86, 기권 122표로 채택한 ‘공동 외교∙안보 정책 이행에 대한 2023 연례 보고서’도 한국 등 인도태평양 국가들과의 협력 강화를 촉구했습니다 .
The 2023 Annual Report on the Implementation of Joint Foreign and Security Policy, adopted by the European Parliament with 338 votes in favor and 122 abstentions, also called for stronger cooperation with South Korea and other Indo-Pacific countries.

"We urge North Korea to abandon its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner, deplore the crimes against humanity currently committed in the strongest terms, and urge North Korean authorities to take a reform process in which all human rights are respected and protected," the report said.

또한 북러 밀착에 대해 “유럽연합과 국제사회가 러시아와 북한 간의 군사 협력과 무기 교류를 막아야 할 긴급한 필요성을 강조한다”고 밝혔습니다.

한편 우르줄라 폰데어라이엔 EU 집행위원장은 이날 표결에 앞서 행한 연설에서 북러 무기 거래를 지적했습니다.
Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen pointed to the North Korea-Russia arms deal in a speech before the vote.

"We are witnessing the strength and danger of anxious authoritarians," said executive chairman von der Leyen.

And Iran is providing attack drones, and crucially also the technology behind them, to inflict untold damage on Ukrainian cities and citizens.”

그러면서 유럽이 궁극적으로 스스로의 안보를 책임져야 한다며, 러시아가 승리하도록 내버려둘 수 없다고 밝혔습니다.
He said that Europe should ultimately take responsibility for its own security and that Russia cannot be allowed to win.
