미 국무부의 호세 페르난데즈 경제차관과 한국 외교부 강인선 2차관이 31일 서울에서 ‘제8차 미한 고위급 경제협의회(Senior Economic Dialogue)’를 열고 다양한 현안을 논의했습니다.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Jose Fernandez and South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister Kang In-sun held the 8th Senior Economic Dialogue in Seoul on the 31st to discuss various pending issues.

국무부는 1일 발표한 보도자료에서 “페르난데스 차관과 강 차관은 이번 고위급 경제협의회에서 미한 경제관계의 굳건함을 재확인하고 주요 분야에서의 협력 강화 방안에 대해 논의했다”고 밝혔습니다.
The State Department said in a press release released on the 1st, "Fernandez and Kang reaffirmed the solidity of U.S.-Korea economic relations and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in major areas."

구체적으로 양측은 인도태평양과 전 세계 경제안보를 증진하기 위해 지속적으로 협력하고 혁신적인 기술 분야에서 다양하고 탄력적이며 안전한 공급망을 촉진하기 위해 긴밀한 협력을 유지하기로 했다고 전했습니다.
Specifically, the two sides said they would continue to work together to promote economic security in the Indo-Pacific and around the world, and to maintain close cooperation to promote diverse, resilient and secure supply chains in innovative technologies.

또 정보통신기술(ICT) 인프라를 촉진하고 지속 가능한 개발을 진전시키며 청정 에너지 분야에서 탈탄소화 목표 달성을 위해 민간 부문과 협력하기로 했다고 국무부는 밝혔습니다.
In addition, the State Department says it has decided to work with the private sector to promote information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, advance sustainable development, and achieve decarbonization goals in clean energy.

한국 외교부도 보도자료를 내고 이번 회의에서 미 인플레이션 감축법(IRA)과 반도체과학법 이행과 관련해 한국 관련 업계의 입장을 재차 강조하며 미국의 협조를 요청했다고 밝혔습니다.
South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also released a press release saying that the meeting reiterated the Korean industry's position on the implementation of the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Semiconductor Science Act and asked for U.S. cooperation.
