바이든, 공급망 강화 ‘행동계획’ 발표…“한국 등 동맹 관여 계속 심화” > 경제

조 바이든 미국 대통령이 공급망 강화를 위한 국내외 노력을 강화하겠다는 방침을 밝혔습니다. 한국 등 동맹국과의 관여를 계속 심화할 것이라고 강조했습니다. 이조은 기자입니다.

The government plans to establish a Supply Chain Resilience Committee, which creates long-term strategies for building sustainable supply chains, use the Defense Production Act to increase the production of essential medicines, and allow relevant ministries to share supply chain-related data.

바이든 대통령은 이날 대통령실 업무용 건물인 아이젠하워 행정동에서 공급망 강화를 위한 행동 계획을 발표하며 “먼저 국내 노력을 두 배로 늘릴 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.

위원회는 국가안보보좌관과 국가경제보좌관을 공동 의장으로 재무부와 국토안보부, 상무부 등 관계 부처 장관들로 구성됐습니다.
The committee is co-chaired by the National Security Adviser and the National Economic Adviser, and is composed of ministers from relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Homeland Security, and Commerce.

공급망 강화를 위해 한국 등 동맹과의 협력을 강화하겠다는 방침도 밝혔습니다.

앞서 미국은 지난 16일 샌프란시스코에서 열린 인도태평양경제프레임워크(IPEF) 정상회의에서 한국 등 13개 회원국과 공급망 위기 대응 네트워크를 가동하는 공급망 협정을 내년 상반기 중 발효하기로 했습니다.
Earlier, at the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) summit held in San Francisco on the 16th, the U.S. decided to implement a supply chain agreement with 13 member countries, including South Korea, to operate a supply chain crisis response network in the first half of next year.

이 네트워크가 가동되면 공급망 위기가 발생할 경우 미국을 포함한 14개 회원국 간 회의를 통해 대체 공급처 관련 정보 및 품목 이동 관련 협력이 가능해져 위기를 효과적으로 관리할 수 있게 될 것으로 기대됩니다.

한편 백악관은 이날 바이든 대통령의 연설에 앞서 발표한 관련 설명자료를 통해서도 공급망 강화를 위한 한국 등 동맹과의 협력 강화 의지를 재확인했습니다.
