미, 북한 IT 인력 운영 17개 웹사이트 차단 > 경제

미 법무부가 18일 북한의 IT(정보통신) 인력이 불법 수익을 위해 운영하는 웹사이트 도메인17개를 차단했다고 밝혔습니다.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced on the 18th that it has blocked 17 domains of websites operated by North Korean IT personnel for illegal profits.

법무부는 이날 성명에서 미주리주 법원 명령에 따라 이같이 조처했다고 밝혔습니다.
The Justice Department said in a statement that it took the action in accordance with a Missouri court order.

법무부에 따르면, 이 웹사이트를 운영한 북한 해커들은 북한의 무기 프로그램 개발에 자금을지원하기 위해 제재를 회피하며 약 150만 달러의 불법 수익을 벌어들였습니다.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the North Korean hackers who ran the website earned about $1.5 million in illegal revenue by dodging sanctions to fund the North's weapons program development.

앞서 미국은 수천 명의 북한 IT 인력이 신분을 속이고 중국과 러시아, 미국 등 외국 기업에 취업해 북한의 대량살상무기와 핵무기 개발을 위한 자금을 조달했다고 밝혔습니다.
Earlier, the U.S. said thousands of North Korean IT personnel had cheated on their identities and were employed by foreign companies such as China, Russia, and the U.S. to finance North Korea's weapons of mass destruction and nuclear weapons development.

매튜 올슨 법무부 국가안보 담당 차관보는 이번 조치는 북한 해커가 미국 기업에 침투하는것을 막고 미국 기업이 북한의 무기 프로그램 자금 조달에 이용되지 않도록 하기 위함이라고설명했습니다.
Matthew Olsen, assistant secretary of state security at the Justice Department, said the move was aimed at preventing North Korean hackers from infiltrating U.S. companies and preventing them from being used to finance North Korea's weapons programs.

이런 가운데 미국과 한국 당국은 19일 신분과 국적을 숨기고 취업하는 등 북한 IT 인력이 활동 행태를 분석하고 주의를 강화하는 합동 주의보를 공동으로 발표했습니다.
Meanwhile, the U.S. and South Korean authorities jointly issued a joint warning on the 19th to analyze the behavior of North Korean IT personnel and strengthen their attention, including employment by hiding their status and nationality.
