유니세프도 대북 지원 물품 북한 반입 확인 > 경제

유엔아동기금(유니세프, UNICEF)가 북한에 보내는 인도적 지원 물자가 최근 북한에 반입된 것으로 확인됐습니다.
It has been confirmed that humanitarian aid supplies sent to North Korea by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have recently been brought into North Korea.

유니세프 동아시아 지부 담당 대변인은 9일 VOA에 보낸 이메일에서 최근 몇 주 사이 북한에 제한적인 일부 보건과 영양 관련 지원 물자가 배달된 것을 환영한다고 밝혔습니다.
UNICEF's East Asian branch spokesman said in an e-mail to VOA on the 9th that he welcomes the delivery of some limited health and nutrition-related supplies to North Korea in recent weeks.

그러면서, 이번 일이 앞으로 대북 지원 활동이 좀더 정기적으로 이뤄지는 계기가 되기를 바란다고 말했습니다.
He said he hoped this would serve as an opportunity for more regular support activities for North Korea in the future.

[유니세프 대변인] “UNİCEF has welcomed the delivery of some limited health and nutrition supplies, primarily related to treatment of child malnutrition and TB, to DPR Korea in recent weeks and hopes this marks the beginning of a more regular supply operation.”
[UNICEF spokesperson] "UNICEF는 최근 몇 주 동안 주로 어린이 영양실조와 결핵 치료와 관련된 일부 제한적인 건강 및 영양 공급 물량이 DPR Korea에 공급된 것을 환영했으며 이것이 좀 더 정기적인 공급 작업의 시작이 되기를 희망하고 있습니다."

이 대변인은 북한에 보낸 지원 물자는 주로 어린이들의 영양실조와 결핵 치료제라고 설명했습니다.
spokesman Lee explained that the supplies sent to North Korea are mainly nutritional and tuberculosis treatments for children.

앞서 에드윈 살바도르 세계보건기구(WHO) 평양사무소장은 중국 다롄항에서 대기 중이던 WHO의 대북 지원 물자들이 북한 남포항에 도착해 격리 조치돼 있다는 통보를 받았다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
Edwin Salvador, head of the World Health Organization's Pyongyang office, said earlier that he was notified that WHO's supplies to North Korea, which were waiting at Dalian Port in China, arrived at Nampo Port in North Korea and were quarantined.

북한 당국이 남포항을 통한 지원 물품 반입을 허용한 것은 신종 코로나바이러스 방역의 일환으로 해상 수송을 중단한 지난해 7월 말 이후 14개월여 만에 처음입니다.
It is the first time in more than 14 months that North Korean authorities have allowed the import of support supplies through Nampo Port since late July last year when maritime transportation was suspended as part of the COVID-19 quarantine.

이 때문에 일부 언론들은 북한이 코로나 차단을 이유로 취한 북-중 국경 폐쇄 조치가 완화될 가능성을 제기하고 있습니다.
For this reason, some media are raising the possibility of easing the closure of the North Korea-China border, which North Korea has taken on the grounds of blocking COVID-19.
