유엔 인권최고대표 “미얀마 군정 잔혹행위 방지 위해 무기∙외화 차단해야” > 세계

국제사회는 미얀마 군사정부의 자국민들에 대한 잔혹 행위를 막기 위해 군정에 제재 조치를 취해야 한다고 유엔 인권최고대표가 1일 밝혔습니다.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said on the 1st that the international community should impose sanctions on the military government to prevent Myanmar's military government's atrocities against its citizens.

볼커 튀르크 유엔 인권최고대표는 이날 유엔 인권이사회 회의에서 탄압을 막기 위해 무기와 항공유, 외화에 대한 군정의 접근을 금지해야 한다고 말했습니다.
At a meeting of the U.N. Human Rights Council, Volker Türk said the military government should ban access to weapons, aviation oil and foreign currency to prevent repression.

그러면서 “국제사회가 (미얀마 내 소수민족인) 로힝야족을 포함한 모든 (미얀마) 국민에 대한 잔혹 행위를 예방하는 데 힘을 모아줄 것을 거듭 촉구한다”고 밝혔습니다.
"I repeatedly urge the international community to join forces in preventing atrocities against all (Myanmar) people, including the Rohingya (minority in Myanmar)," he said.

튀르크 대표는 “로힝야족은 수십 년에 걸친 조직적 차별과 억압, 대규모 강제이주 등 심각한 인권 침해를 겪었고, 지금은 본질적으로 마을과 수용소들에 감금돼 있다”고 지적했습니다.
"The Rohingya have suffered decades of severe human rights violations, including systematic discrimination, oppression and mass forced migration, and are now essentially confined to villages and camps," Türk noted.

튀르크 대표는 또 유엔 인권최고대표사무소(OHCHR)는 폭력을 피해 미얀마를 떠난 로힝야족 수백 명의 입국을 방글라데시 당국이 막고 있다는 신뢰할 만한 보고를 여러 차례 받았다면서, 이들을 난민으로 보호해줄 것을 국제사회에 호소했습니다.
Türk also appealed to the international community to protect them as refugees, saying that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has received several reliable reports that Bangladeshi authorities have prevented hundreds of Rohingya from entering Myanmar to escape violence.

한편 방글라데시 국경에 인접한 미얀마 서부 라카인주의 한 시장에 2월 29일 포탄이 떨어져 최소 12명의 민간인이 숨지고 80여 명이 다쳤다고 반군연합의 일원인 아라칸군(AA)이 주장했습니다.
Meanwhile, a shell struck a market in Myanmar's western state of Rakhine, adjacent to the Bangladesh border, killing at least 12 civilians and injuring more than 80 others, the Arakan Army (AA), a member of the rebel coalition, said.

이에 대해 군정은 성명에서 포탄 발사의 책임은 AA측에 있다고 반박했습니다.
In response, the military government countered in a statement that AA was responsible for the firing of the shells.

미얀마 군정은 민주화운동 지도자인 아웅산 수치 여사가 이끄는 민주주의민족동맹(NLD)이 압승한 2020년 11월 총선거가 부정선거라며 이듬해 2월 쿠데타로 정권을 장악한 뒤 반대세력에 대한 탄압을 계속해왔습니다.
Myanmar's military government has continued to crack down on opposition forces after seizing power in a coup in February the following year, calling the November 2020 general election rigged when pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi won a landslide victory.

이에 AA와 타앙민족해방군(TNLA), 미얀마민족민주주의동맹군(MNDAA)으로 구성된 반군연합 ‘형제동맹’은 지난해 10월 연합전선을 구축하고 저항해왔습니다.
The Brotherhood, a rebel alliance composed of AA, the Taang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance (MNDAA), established a united front and resisted it in October last year.
