In a statement after the meeting, Lazaro said the difference in views with China on the maritime issue was "deeply concerning," but that it could be resolved "by all diplomatic means," starting with "refrain from aggressive action."

쑨 부부장도 “해양 문제는 중국과 필리핀 관계에서 무시해서는 안 될 중요한 부분”이라면서 “지난 몇 년간 양국은 우호적 대화와 협의를 통해 해양 문제에 대한 이견을 일반적으로 관리하고 효과적으로 대처해 왔다”고 말했습니다.
Sun also said, "The maritime issue is an important part of China-Philippines relations," adding, "Over the past few years, the two countries have generally managed and effectively dealt with differences on maritime issues through friendly dialogue and consultation."

쑨 부부장은 회동에서 중국과 필리핀 관계의 건전하고 꾸준한 발전이 양국 국민의 공통된 열망이자 공동 이익에 대한 기여라고 강조했다고 중국 외교부는 밝혔습니다.
At the meeting, Sun stressed that the sound and steady development of China-Philippines relations is a common aspiration and contribution to the common interests of the two peoples, China's foreign ministry said.

이번 회동은 앞서 페르디난드 마르코스 주니어 필리핀 대통령이 22일 최근 미군의 접근이 추가 허용된 자국 기지 4곳이 필리핀 각처에 위치하게 될 것이라고 밝힌 가운데 이뤄졌습니다.
The meeting came as Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on the 22nd that four more U.S. bases will be located in various parts of the country, with additional U.S. military access recently granted.
