조 바이든 대통령은 29일 질 바이든 여사와 함께 버지니아주 알링턴 국립묘지를 찾아 무명용사의 묘에 헌화했습니다.
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden visited Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on the 29th and laid flowers on the tomb of an unknown soldier.

이날 행사에는 카멀라 해리스 부통령과 남편 더글라스 엠호프, 로이드 오스틴 국방장관과 마크 밀리 합참의장 등도 참석했습니다.
Vice President Kamala Harris, her husband Douglas Mhoff, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Millie also attended the event.

바이든 대통령은 이날 기념 연설에서 “우리는 민주주의를 수호하기 위해 치렀던 대가를 절대 잊어선 안 된다”고 밝혔습니다.
President Biden said in a speech commemorating the day, "We must never forget the price we paid to defend democracy."

바이든 대통령은 “우리 군은 민주주의를 위해 싸웠고, 필요하다면 민주주의를 위해 목숨을 바쳤다”며 “오늘날 그들과 가족들의 봉사와 희생 또 가족들의 희생은 저 고요한 비석 너머로 울려 퍼진다”라고 말했습니다.
"Our military fought for democracy, sacrificed its life if necessary," Biden said. "Today, the service and sacrifice of them and their families resonate beyond that silent monument."

He emphasized, "We see it in the power of the NATO alliance, which is built with bonds forged forever in the flames of two world wars."

"We see it in all bases, barracks and traps around the world, where our military proudly serves as an army for good," Biden explained.

He also stressed, "Just as they have kept their fundamental faith in our country and our democracy, we must keep our fundamental faith in them."

바이든 대통령은 이어 전장 안팎에서 미군을 돌봐야 할 필요성에 대해서도 언급했습니다.
President Biden went on to mention the need to take care of U.S. troops on and off the battlefield.

로이드 오스틴 장관도 이날 연설에서 전쟁에서 숨진 미군장병들의 넋을 기리고 미군 가족들에 대한 지원을 아끼지 않을 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
Minister Lloyd Austin also said in his speech that he would honor the souls of U.S. soldiers killed in the war and spare no support for U.S. families.

We pledge again today to ensure that you and your families have the support that you need and deserve. You will always be a part of our military family.”

Austin then stressed that he would try to remember the soldiers who died in the war.
