백악관, ‘우크라이나 탱크 지원’ 김여정 비난에 “계속 우크라이나 지원할 것” > 정치

북한 김여정 북한 노동당 부부장이 미국의 우크라이나 탱크 지원을 비난한 것과 관련해 백악관은 우크라이나를 계속 지원할 것이라는 점을 강조했습니다. 북한과 러시아 간의 무기 거래 사실도 거듭 지적했습니다. 박형주 기자가 보도합니다
Regarding North Korea's Vice Minister of Labor Kim Yo-jung's criticism of the U.S. aid to Ukraine, the White House stressed that it will continue to support Ukraine. He also repeatedly pointed out the arms trade between North Korea and Russia. Reporter Park Hyung-joo reports.

미 백악관은 27일 "우리는 우크라이나에 대한 러시아의 잔혹한 전쟁으로부터 스스로를 방어하는 데 필요한 것들을 우크라이나에 계속 제공할 것"이라고 밝혔습니다.
"We will continue to provide Ukraine with what it needs to defend itself from Russia's brutal war on Ukraine," the White House said on the 27th.

백악관 국가안보회의(NSC) 대변인은 이날 북한 김여정 노동당 부부장이 미국의 우크라이나 탱크 지원을 비난한 것과 관련한 VOA의 논평 요청에 이같이 말했습니다.
A White House National Security Council spokesman made the remarks in response to VOA's request for comment on North Korea's Deputy Labor Minister Kim Yo-jung's criticism of the U.S. aid to Ukraine tanks.

[백악관 NSC 대변인] "We will continue to provide Ukraine with that it needs to defend itself from Russia’s brutal war of choice against Ukraine. We’ve also been clear that we condemn North Korea’s ongoing support for Russia’s military operations against Ukraine by providing arms and ammunition to Wagner"

앞서 조 바이든 대통령은 지난 25일 러시아와 전쟁 중인 우크라이나에 31대의 M1 에이브럼스 탱크를 지원하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
Earlier on the 25th, President Joe Biden said he would provide 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, which is at war with Russia.

이와 관련해 김여정 북한 노동당 부부장은 27일 담화에서 "우크라이나에 지상공격용 전투장비들을 밀어넣음으로써 전쟁상황을 계단식으로 확대하고 있는 미국의 처사에 심각한 우려를 표명하며 이를 강력히 규탄한다”고 밝혔습니다.
In a statement on the 27th, Kim Yo-jung, vice minister of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party, said, "We express serious concern and strongly condemn the U.S. handling of the war by pushing ground attack combat equipment into Ukraine."

그러면서 “미국과 서방이 자랑하는 그 어떤 무장장비도 영웅적인 러시아 군대와 인민의 불굴의 전투정신과 위력 앞에 모조리 불타버려 파철더미가 될 것"이라고 주장했습니다.
"Any armed equipment that the United States and the West boast will be burned down in the face of the heroic Russian army and the indomitable fighting spirit and power of the people," he claimed.

북한의 이같은 비난에 대해 백악관은 지난주 '북-러 무기 거래' 정황을 포착한 위성사진을 공개한 사실을 언급했습니다.
In response to North Korea's criticism, the White House mentioned last week that it released satellite images that captured the situation of the "North Korea-Russia arms deal."

[백악관 NSC 대변인] "In recent weeks, we have seen North Korean officials falsely deny that they have provided arms to Wagner. But as we have said, North Korea delivered infantry rockets and missiles into Russia for use by Wagner toward the end of last year. Last week, we released imagery of this initial delivery which showed on November 18 that five Russian railcars traveled from Russia to North Korea”

NSC 대변인은 "지난주 우리는 이 최초 (무기) 전달 이미지를 공개했다"면서 관련 위성사진은 "지난해 11월 18일에 5량의 러시아 열차가 러시아에서 북한으로 이동했다는 것을 보여줬다"고 덧붙였습니다.
"Last week, we released this first (weapon) delivery image," the spokesman said. "The satellite images showed that five Russian trains moved from Russia to North Korea on November 18 last year."

그러면서 "이는 부분적으로 우리의 제재와 수출통제로 인해 러시아가 외국으로부터 무기를 찾고 있다는 것을 보여준다"고 언급했습니다.
"This shows, in part, that Russia is looking for weapons from foreign countries because of our sanctions and export controls," he said.

[백악관 NSC 대변인] "This just shows that in part because of our sanctions and export controls, Russia is searching for arms from foreign countries. While we assess that the amount of material delivered to Wagner has not changed battlefield dynamics in Ukraine, we expect that it will continue to receive North Korean weapons systems. We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes"

NSC 대변인은 그러면서 "우리는 우크라이나가 필요로 하는 한 계속해서 지원할 것"이라고 강조했습니다.
"We will continue to support Ukraine as long as it needs it," the spokesman said.
