한국형 미사일 방어체계 핵심 ‘L-SAM’ 미사일 요격시험 첫 성공 > 정치

한국형 미사일 방어체계의 핵심 무기인 장거리 지대공미사일, 엘 샘(L-SAM)이 요격시험에 처음 성공한 것으로 알려졌습니다.
Long-range surface-to-air missiles, L-SAM, a key weapon in the Korean missile defense system, are known to have succeeded in intercepting for the first time.

한국 군에 따르면 국방과학연구소(ADD)는 최근 엘 샘으로 표적 미사일을 요격하는 시험발사를 비공개로 진행해 성공했습니다.
According to the South Korean military, the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) recently conducted a test-firing with an L-Sam to intercept a target missile behind closed doors.

엘 샘은 북한 탄도미사일이 고도 50∼60㎞에서 비행할 때 요격하는 것을 목표로 개발되고 있는데, 엘 샘이 실전배치되면 고도 40∼150㎞의 상층부를 방어하는 고고도 미사일 방어체계 즉 사드(THAAD)와 고도 15∼40㎞의 하층부를 담당하는 패트리엇(PAC-3) 미사일, 중거리 지대공미사일(M-SAM) '천궁-Ⅱ' 등과 함께 다층적 방어체계가 구축됩니다.
Elsaem is being developed with the aim of intercepting North Korean ballistic missiles when they fly at an altitude of 50 to 60 kilometers, and when the Elsaem is deployed, a multi-layered defense system will be established along with THAAD, a Patriot (PAC-3) missile, and a mid-range air-missile (M-SAM) 'Cheongung-II' that defend the upper floors of 40 to 150 kilometers.

한국 군은 추가 시험발사와 평가를 거쳐 2024년 말까지 엘 샘 체계 개발을 완료하고 2026년 양산에 들어가 2027∼2028년께 실전배치할 계획입니다.
The Korean military plans to complete the development of the Elsaem system by the end of 2024 after additional tests and evaluations, start mass production in 2026, and deploy it in 2027-2028.
