미한일 외교장관 통화…“북한 ICBM 발사 강력 규탄” > 정치

웬디 셔먼 국무부 부장관이 북한의 대륙간탄도미사일(ICBM) 발사를 강력히 규탄하고 미한일 3국 공조의 중요성을 강조했습니다.
Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman strongly condemned North Korea's launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and stressed the importance of trilateral cooperation between the U.S. and Japan.

네드 프라이스 국무부 대변인은 21일 보도자료에서 “셔먼 부장관이 오늘, 11월 18일 감행된 북한의 ICBM 발사를 논의하기 위해 조현동 한국 외교부 제1차관, 모리 다케오 일본 외무성 사무차관과 3자 전화 협의를 했다”고 밝혔습니다.
State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a press release on the 21st, "Sherman had a three-way telephone consultation with South Korean Vice Foreign Minister Cho Hyun-dong and Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Takeo Mori to discuss North Korea's ICBM launch on November 18."

The Deputy Secretary and Vice Ministers strongly condemned the unlawful ICBM launch for its destabilizing effect on the region and the world, noting that it was only the latest in a series of ballistic missile launches and use of aggressive rhetoric by the DPRK that have escalated tensions.”

이어 “(셔먼) 부장관과 한일 외교차관은 역내와 세계에 불안정한 영향을 미치는 불법적인 ICBM 발사를 강력히 규탄했으며, 이것이 긴장을 고조시켜 온 북한의 잇따른 탄도미사일 발사와 공격적인 수사의 사용 중 가장 최근의 것일 뿐이라는 데 주목했다”고 설명했습니다.
"(Sherman) and South Korea's Vice Foreign Minister strongly condemned the illegal ICBM launch, which has unstable effects on the region and the world, and noted that it is only the latest in North Korea's series of ballistic missile launches and aggressive investigations."

프라이스 대변인은 3국 차관들이 “북한의 불법적이고 갈수록 위험해지는 행동에 대응하는 데 있어 미한일 3국 협력의 중요성을 재확인했다”고 말했습니다.
Vice ministers reaffirmed the importance of U.S.-Japan trilateral cooperation in responding to North Korea's illegal and increasingly dangerous actions, Price said.

[프라이스 대변인] “Deputy Secretary Sherman and Vice Ministers Cho and Mori reaffirmed the importance of trilateral cooperation among the United States, the ROK, and Japan in responding to the DPRK’s unlawful and increasingly dangerous behavior. The Deputy Secretary reaffirmed the ironclad U.S. commitments to the defense of the ROK and Japan, and stressed the need for the international community to stand together in holding the DPRK accountable for its continued and brazen violations of multiple UN Security Council resolutions. She also called on the DPRK to cease its unlawful and destabilizing behavior and instead engage in sustained and sincere dialogue.”
[Price spokesman] "셔먼 차관과 조, 모리 차관은 북한의 불법적이고 점점 더 위험해지는 행동에 대응하기 위해 미국, 한국, 일본의 3국 협력의 중요성을 재확인했습니다. 부장관은 한국과 일본의 방위에 대한 미국의 철통같은 약속을 재확인하고, 북한이 여러 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의를 계속해서 뻔뻔스럽게 위반하고 있는 것에 대해 국제사회가 함께 책임을 물을 필요가 있다고 강조했습니다. 그녀는 또한 북한이 불법적이고 불안정한 행동을 중단하고 대신 지속적이고 성실한 대화에 참여할 것을 촉구했습니다."

아울러 “셔먼 부장관은 한국과 일본 방위에 대한 미국의 철통같은 공약을 재확인하고, 여러 유엔 안보리 결의를 지속적이고 뻔뻔하게 위반하는 북한에 책임을 묻는데 국제사회가 단합할 필요성을 강조했다”고 프라이스 대변인은 전했습니다.
"Sherman reaffirmed the U.S. ironclad commitment to the defense of South Korea and Japan, and stressed the need for the international community to unite in holding North Korea responsible for continuing and brazen violations of U.N. Security Council resolutions," Price said.

또한 “(셔먼 부장관은) 북한이 불법적이고 불안정한 행동을 중단하고, 대신 지속적이고 진지한 대화에 관여할 것을 촉구했다”고 덧붙였습니다.
He also added, "Deputy Secretary Sherman urged North Korea to stop illegal and unstable behavior and engage in continuous and serious dialogue instead."
