미일 국방장관 전화회담..."동맹 강화 약속 재확인" > 정치

로이드 오스틴 미 국방장관이 하마다 야스카즈 일본 신임 방위상과 전화회담을 갖고 미일 동맹 문제 등 양국의 현안을 논의했다고 미 국방부가 밝혔습니다.
The Pentagon says U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin held a telephone meeting with Japan's new defense minister, Hamada Yasukazu, to discuss pending bilateral issues, including the U.S.-Japan alliance.

토드 브리실 미 국방부 대변인 대행은 16일 보도자료에서 “오스틴 장관이 하마다 방위상의 취임을 축하하며, 미국과 일본 국민 간 우정의 깊은 유대에 관해 말하고 미일 동맹 강화에 대한 공동의 약속을 재확인했다”고 전했습니다.
Acting Pentagon spokesman Todd Brisil said in a press release Wednesday that Austin congratulated Hamada on his inauguration and reaffirmed his joint commitment to strengthening the U.S.-Japan alliance.

이어 “전화회담에서 두 장관은 광범위한 역내 안보와 동맹 사안에 대한 의견을 교환했다”면서 “양측은 자유롭고 열린 인도태평양을 지키는 것을 목표로 한 구체적이고 혁신적인 방위 계획에 대한 협력을 확인했다”고 덧붙였습니다.
"The two ministers exchanged views on a wide range of regional security and alliance issues," he said. "The two sides confirmed their cooperation on a concrete and innovative defense plan aimed at protecting the free and open Indian Pacific."
