미 국무 보고서 "북한 해외 강제노동 기관들 제재" > 경제

미국 국무부가 국제사회 잔혹 행위를 포함한 인권 문제를 다룬 보고서를 통해 북한의 해외 노동자 문제를 거론했습니다.
The U.S. State Department cited North Korea's overseas workers in a report on human rights issues, including international atrocities.

국무부는 12일 공개한 ‘대량학살과 잔혹 행위 방지법 보고서’에서 잔혹 행위 방지를 위한 미국 정부의 노력을 설명하며, “다른 제재 관련 조치와 더불어 재무부가 북한과 관련된 강제노동을 다른 여러 나라에 수출하거나 지원하는 4개 기관을 (제재 대상으로) 지정했다”고 밝혔습니다.
The State Department described the U.S. government's efforts to prevent atrocities in a report released on the 12th, saying, "In addition to other sanctions, the Treasury has designated four agencies that export or support North Korea-related forced labor."

이어 재무부와 국무부는 다른 협력국들에도 제재 제도를 채택하도록 장려했다며, 이에 따라 유럽연합의 ‘세계 인권 제재 체제(Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime)’가 지난해 12월 채택돼 인권침해자 등의 자산을 동결하고 입국을 금지하는 등의 조치를 취한 사례를 소개했습니다.
The Treasury and State Department then encouraged other partners to adopt sanctions, introducing cases in which the European Union's "Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime" was adopted in December last year to freeze human rights violators and prohibit entry.

국무부는 지난 2018년 미 의회가 채택한 ‘엘리 위젤 대량학살과 잔혹 행위 방지법’에 따라 매년 관련 내용을 담은 보고서를 의회에 제출하고 있습니다.
The State Department submits a related report to Congress every year in accordance with the Ellie Weasel Massacre and Cruelty Prevention Act adopted by the U.S. Congress in 2018.

올해 보고서에는 군부 쿠데타 이후 격렬한 시위가 벌어지고 있는 미얀마(버마)와 신장 지역 소수민족인 위구르족에 대한 대량학살 범죄가 발생한 중국 등에 대한 내용이 담겼습니다.
This year's report includes Myanmar (Burma), where violent protests have been taking place since the military coup, and China, where genocide crimes against ethnic Uighurs in Xinjiang have occurred.
