유엔(UN)이 1일 내년도에 재난 등 지원을 위해 회원국들에 미화 515억 달러를 요청했습니다.
The United Nations (UN) on the 1st requested US$51.5 billion from member countries for disaster and other support next year.
내년도 원조금은 전 세계 69개국 3억3천900만 인구를 돕기 위한 것이며, 410억 달러를 요청했던 올해 보다 25% 많은 액수라고 유엔 인도주의업무조정국이 밝혔습니다.
Next year's aid is aimed at helping 339 million people in 69 countries around the world, 25 percent more than this year's $41 billion request, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.
이와 관련해 마틴 그리피스 유엔 인도주의 업무 조정관은 “올해의 극적인 사건들이 2023년에도 이어질 것이기 때문에 인도주의 지원 수요가 놀랄 만큼 많아졌다”며 우크라이나 전쟁과 아프리카 가뭄, 파키스탄의 홍수 등 자연재해를 언급했습니다.
In a related development, Martin Griffith, UN Humanitarian Coordinator, said, "This year's dramatic events will continue in 2023, so the demand for humanitarian aid has been surprisingly high," referring to natural disasters such as the Ukrainian war, African drought, and Pakistan's floods.
그리피스 조정관은 “위기에 처한 이들에게 원조는 생명선이며, 국제사회에게는 누구도 소외시키지 않겠다는 약속을 지키기 위한 전략”이라고 설명했습니다.
"For those in crisis, aid is a lifeline, and it is a strategy to keep its promise not to alienate anyone from the international community," said Griffiths.
유엔 인도주의업무조정국은 현재 회원국들이 제공한 자금이 필요 액수의 절반에도 못 미친다고 밝혔습니다.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says the funding provided by the Member States is now less than half the amount required.
