미-타이완 무역투자협상 올 가을 개시 > 세계

미국과 타이완이 무역 협상을 시작하기로 합의했다고 미 무역대표부(USTR)가 17일 밝혔습니다.
The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) said on the 17th that the U.S. and Taiwan have agreed to start trade negotiations.

USTR은 이날 성명을 통해 올 가을 타이완과 공식 무역협상이 열릴 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
A statement said official trade talks with Taiwan will take place this fall.

그러면서 이 협상에서 무역 절차 간소화, 규제, 반부패, 중소기업의 무역 지원, 농업 등 11가지 문제가 논의될 것이라고 말했습니다.
He also said that the negotiations will discuss 11 issues, including simplifying trade procedures, regulations, anti-corruption, trade support for small and medium-sized companies, and agriculture.

사라 비앙키 USTR 부대표는 이 회담이 양국 간 무역·투자를 증진하는 것은 물론 상호 거래 우선권을 진전시키며, 양국 근로자와 기업을 위한 혁신적이고 포괄적인 경제성장을 촉진시킬 것이라고 말했습니다.
U.S. Trade Representative Sarah Bianki says the talks will not only boost bilateral trade and investment, but also advance bilateral trade priorities and promote innovative and comprehensive economic growth for both workers and businesses.

무역협상에는 미국재타이완협회(AIT)와 주미 타이완 경제문화대표부(TECRO)가 참여할 것으로 알려졌습니다.
The American Association of Thailand (AIT) and the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Representative (TECRO) are expected to participate in the trade negotiations.

두 기관은 미국과 타이완의 대사관 역할을 수행하고 있습니다.
The two agencies serve as embassies in the United States and Taiwan.

앞서 미국과 타이완은 지난 6월 1일 상호 무역 협상 재개를 발표하고, 수 주 안에 11차 ‘무역투자기본협정’ 협상을 개최하기로 합의했다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
The United States and Taiwan announced the resumption of bilateral trade negotiations on June 1 and said they had agreed to hold the 11th round of Basic Trade and Investment Agreement within weeks.

한편 중국은 미국과 타이완의 새로운 무역 협상에 대해 반발했습니다.
Meanwhile, China has protested against a new trade deal between the United States and Taiwan.

중국 외교부 대변인은 18일 “중화인민공화국 정부는 모든 중국을 대표하는 유일한 합법 정부고, 하나의 중국 원칙은 타이완이 대외 경제협력에 참여하는 전제 조건”이라며 “어떤 국가이든 타이완과 주권적 의미와 공식적 성격을 가진 경제 무역 협정을 체결하는 것에 반대한다”고 말했습니다.
"The government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing all of China, and one Chinese principle is a prerequisite for Taiwan's participation in foreign economic cooperation," a foreign ministry spokesman said on the 18th.
