Heavy rains in southeastern China have reportedly caused flooding and landslides, leaving hundreds of thousands of residents evacuated.

중국 중앙기상대는 지난달 초와 이달 중순 사이 광둥과 푸젠, 광시성의 평균강수량이 621mm에 이른다며, 1961년 이래 최고치라고 발표했습니다.
China's Central Meteorological Observatory said the average rainfall in Guangdong, Fujian and Guangxi reached 621mm between early last month and the middle of this month, the highest since 1961.

중국 관영 '신화통신'은 중국 남동부 장시성의 경우 약 9개 지구에서 48만 5천명의 주민이 영향을 받은 뒤에 홍수경보를 발령했다고 보도했습니다.
China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reports that the southeastern Chinese province of Jiangxi issued a flood warning after 485,000 residents were affected in about nine districts.

특히 남동부 지역 두 개 성은 강물이 불어 넘치고 수위가 50년만에 기록을 깨면서 21일 홍수경보를 상향조정 했습니다.
In particular, the two southeastern provinces raised their flood warnings on the 21st as rivers overflowed and water levels broke records for the first time in 50 years.

'신화통신'은 이번 폭우로 영향을 받은 지역들의 경제적 피해가 약 4억7천만 위안 (미화 7천20만 달러)로 추산된다며, 약 4만3천300hr의 곡물이 파괴됐다고 전했습니다.
Xinhua News Agency says the heavy rains have destroyed about 43,300 hours of grain, with an estimated 470 million yuan ($70.2 million) in economic damage to affected areas.

현지 당국 관계자들은 앞으로 수일 동안 상황이 더욱 악화될 수 있다며, 특히 주장강 수위가 계속해서 높아질 것으로 예상된다고 경고했습니다.
Local officials have warned that the situation could worsen in the coming days, especially the level of the Pearl River is expected to continue to rise.
