미 국무부 '타이완은 중국 일부' 삭제...중국 반발 > 세계

미 국무부가 타이완에 대한 인터넷 홈페이지 문구를 수정하자 중국이 이에 강력 반발했습니다.
China strongly protested when the U.S. State Department revised the wording of its Internet homepage on Taiwan.

국무부는 지난 5일 미국과 타이완 관계에 대한 ‘팩트 시트(개황 보고서)'를 수정했습니다.
The State Department revised the "fact sheet" on U.S.-Taiwan relations on the 5th.

이 과정에서 “미국과 중화인민공화국(PRC)의 공동 성명(코뮈니케)에서 미국은 중화인민공화국 정부를 중국의 유일한 합법적인 정부로 인정하고, 하나의 중국과 타이완이 중국의 일부라는 중국의 입장을 인정했다”는 문장이 삭제됐습다.
In the process, the sentence was deleted, "In the joint statement (Communique) between the U.S. and the PRC, the U.S. recognized the government of the People's Republic of China as China's only legitimate government, and China's position that one China and Taiwan are part of China."

또 “미국은 타이완 독립을 지지하지 않는다”는 문장도 빠졌습니다.
It also left out the sentence "The United States does not support Taiwan's independence."

중국은 미 국무부의 이같은 문구 수정에 강력 반발했습니다.
China strongly opposed the U.S. State Department's revision of the phrase.

중국 외교부 대변인은 10일 “타이완은 중국 영토이자 불가분한 일부분”이라며 “역사는 고칠 수 없고, 사실은 부인할 수 없다”고 말했습니다.
A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on the 10th that "Taiwan is an indispensable part of China's territory," adding, "History cannot be fixed, and the fact is undeniable."

그러면서 “미국이 팩트 시트를 수정한 것은 하나의 중국 원칙을 흐릿하고 모호하게 만들려는 꼼수”라고 경고했습니다.
He warned, "The U.S. revision of the fact sheet is a trick to blur and obscure one Chinese principle."

이에 대해 네드 프라이스 국무부 대변인은 10일 타이완에 대한 “우리 정책에는 변화는 없다”고 말했습니다. 그러면서 홈페이지 수정은 정기적인 업데이트에 불과하다고 말했습니다.
In response, State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Tuesday that "there is no change in our policy" for Taiwan. He also said that the revision of the homepage is only a regular update.
