블링컨, '평화로운 길 선택' 푸틴에 촉구 > 세계

토니 블링컨 미 국무장관이 19일 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령에게 “외교적이고 평화로운 길”을 선택할 것을 촉구했습니다.
U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinkon urged Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 19th to take a "diplomatic and peaceful path."

블링컨 장관은 이날 우크라이나 수도 키예프에서 이같이 말했습니다.
Minister Blinkon made the remarks in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.

블링컨 장관은 “우리가 외교적이고 평화로운 길을 가기를 강하게 희망하지만, 이는 결국 푸틴 대통령의 결정에 달린 문제”라고 강조했습니다.
Minister Blinkon stressed, "We strongly hope that we will go on a diplomatic and peaceful path, but this is ultimately up to President Putin's decision."

이어 “우리는 러시아가 단기간에 병력을 급격히 증강하는 계획을 갖고 있다는 점을 알고 있다”고 밝혔습니다.
He then said, "We know that Russia has a plan to rapidly increase its troops in a short period of time."

그러면서 이는 “푸틴 대통령이 우크라이나를 겨냥해 신속히 추가적인 도발 행동을 할 수 있게끔 해준다”고 말했습니다.
He said, "It allows President Putin to take additional provocative actions quickly targeting Ukraine."

한편, 미 국무부 고위 관리는 미국 정부가 우크라이나에 대한 2억달러 규모의 추가 군사지원안을 최근 승인했다고 밝혔습니다.
Meanwhile, a senior U.S. State Department official said the U.S. government recently approved an additional $200 million military aid plan for Ukraine.

이에 대해 볼로디미르 젤렌스키 대통령은 사의를 표명했습니다. 젤렌스키 대통령은 블링컨 장관과 만나 “어려운 시기에” 미국이 군사적 지원을 늘리기로 결정한 점에 대해 감사한다고 밝혔습니다.

한편, 러시아의 '인테르팍스' 통신은 미국의 추가 군사지원이 알려진 직후, 세르게이 랴브코프 외무차관의 발언을 인용하며 유럽내 안보를 둘러싼 상황이 “매우 심각하다”고 전했습니다. 랴브코프 차관은 서방권이 우크라이나에 대한 무기 지원을 중단할 것을 촉구했습니다.
Meanwhile, Russia's "Interpax" news agency quoted Vice Foreign Minister Serge Ryabkov's remarks shortly after additional U.S. military aid was announced, saying the situation surrounding security in Europe is "very serious." Vice Minister Ryabkov urged the West to stop providing weapons to Ukraine.

이런 가운데, 드미트로 쿨레바 우크라이나 외무장관은 호세프 보렐 유럽연합(EU) 외교안보정책 고위 대표와 전화 통화를 가졌다며, “범대서양 공동체가 러시아의 도발에 공동 대응할 수 있는 방안들에 논의했다”고 밝혔습니다.
In the meantime, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleva said in a telephone conversation with European Union (EU) senior foreign and security policy representative Josef Borrell, "We discussed ways for the pan-Atlantic community to jointly respond to Russian provocations."
