한국 합참의장, 미 니미츠 항공모함 방문 > 정치

김승겸 한국 합참의장이 27일 제주 남방 공해상에서 미한 연합해상훈련 중인 미국 니미츠 항공모함을 방문했습니다.
Kim Seung-gyeom, chairman of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited the U.S. Nimitz aircraft carrier during joint maritime training between the U.S. and South Korea on the southern sea of Jeju on the 27th.

한국 합참은 이날 성명을 내고 김승겸 합참의장이 니미츠함을 방문해 훈련 상황을 점검하고, 미한 해군 장병들을 격려했다고 밝혔습니다.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a statement saying Kim Seung-gyeom, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited the Nimitz to check the training situation and encouraged U.S. and U.S. naval personnel.

김 의장은 최근 북한의 대륙간탄도미사일(ICBM)을 포함한 탄도미사일 발사가 한반도와 역내 안보질서를 심각하게 위협하고 있다면서 “한미동맹은 적의 어떠한 도발과 침략에도 단호하게 압도적인 대응을 할 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
Chairman Kim said that North Korea's recent launch of ballistic missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), seriously threatens the security order on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

그러면서 “’적의 핵공격 시도는 곧 정권 종말’이라는 사실을 확실하게 각인시킬 것”이라고 강조했습니다.
He emphasized, "We will firmly imprint the fact that 'the enemy's nuclear attack attempt is the end of the regime.'

이어 “이번 항모강습단의 한반도 전개와 한미연합해상훈련은 적의 도발을 억제하고, 한미 동맹의 굳건한 연합방위태세에 대한 결연한 의지와 실행력을 보여주는 증거”라고 말했습니다.
"The aircraft carrier strike group's development on the Korean Peninsula and the ROK-US joint maritime exercise are evidence of the determined will and execution of the ROK-US alliance's strong joint defense posture."

한편 이번 니미츠 항모강습단의 방한은 굳건한 미한연합방위태세와 확장억제 공약과 ‘전사의 방패(Warrior Shield, WS)’ 연합 기동훈련의 일환으로 이뤄졌습니다.
Meanwhile, the Nimitz Carrier Training Group's visit to Korea was made as part of a solid U.S.-Korea joint defense posture, extended deterrence pledge, and a joint "Warrior Shield (WS)" maneuvers.
