주일미대사, 북한 미사일 도발에 “중국 제역할 안해” > 정치

람 이매뉴얼 주일 미국 대사가 21일 북한의 미사일 도발에 중국이 제역할을 하지 않는다고 말했습니다.
U.S. Ambassador to Japan Ram Emanuel said on the 21st that China is not playing a role in North Korea's missile provocations.

이매뉴얼 대사는 이날 일본 외국특파원협회 (FCCJ)에서 열린 기자회견에서 이같이 밝혔다고 일본 언론이 보도했습니다.
Japanese media reported that Ambassador Emanuel made the remarks at a press conference held at the Japan Association of Foreign Correspondents (FCCJ).

그러면서 북한의 거듭된 미사일 발사가 한국과 일본 등 미국의 역내 동맹국들에 대한 위협이라고 지적했습니다.
He pointed out that North Korea's repeated missile launches are a threat to U.S. allies in the region, including South Korea and Japan.

특히 “중국은 (북한에게 있어서) 정치적으로나 경제적으로 중요한 역할을 하고 있다”면서 중국이 자신의 역할이 충분히 하지 않는다고 강조했습니다.
In particular, he stressed that China does not play its role enough, saying, "China is playing an important role politically and economically for North Korea."

한편 최근 시진핑 중국 국가주석이 우크라이나 사태를 놓고 서방과의 관계를 개선하려는 노력에 대한 기자들의 질문에는, 시 주석이 전랑(늑대전사)외교와 경제적 강요가 중국에 끼친 피해에 주목한 것으로 보인다고 밝혔습니다.
When asked by reporters about Chinese President Xi Jinping's recent efforts to improve relations with the West over the Ukraine crisis, Xi said he seemed to have paid attention to the damage that the warring diplomacy and economic coercion had done to China.

전랑외교란, 경제적 압박과 함께 원색적 표현으로 타국을 비판하는 중국의 공격적 외교 방식에 붙은 별칭입니다.
Jeonrang diplomacy is an alias attached to China's aggressive diplomacy, which criticizes other countries in a raw way along with economic pressure.

그러면서 시 주석의 이같은 움직임은 “사람들의 기억에서 그것들을 없애버리려는 시도”라고 지적했습니다.
He also pointed out that Xi's move is "an attempt to remove them from people's memory."

최근 시 주석은 올라프 숄츠 독일 총리와의 정상회담에서 우크라이나에서의 핵 위협이나 사용에 반대한다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
In a recent summit with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Xi said he was opposed to nuclear threats or use in Ukraine.
