미국-아세안 공동 비전성명 “한반도 완전한 비핵화 목표… 북한 안보리 결의 준수 촉구” > 정치

미국과 아세안은 특별정상회의에서 채택한 공동 비전성명에서 한반도의 완전한 비핵화 목표를 확인했습니다. 또 북한이 안보리 결의를 준수하고 외교로 복귀할 것을 촉구했습니다. 조은정 기자가 보도합니다.
The United States and ASEAN confirmed the goal of complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in a joint vision statement adopted at the special summit. It also urged North Korea to abide by the Security Council's resolutions and return to diplomacy. Reporter Cho Eun-jung reports.

미국과 아세안은 13일 워싱턴에서 이틀간의 특별정상회의를 끝내며 전략적인 협력관계를 구축한다는 목표를 세웠습니다.
The U.S. and ASEAN have set their sights on building strategic partnerships after a two-day special summit in Washington on the 13th.

이날 채택된 공동 비전성명은 올해 11월 제10차 아세안 미국 정상회의 때 아세안-미국 포괄적 전략 파트너십을 구축한다고 명시했습니다.
The joint vision statement adopted on the same day stated that the ASEAN-US comprehensive strategic partnership will be established at the 10th ASEAN-US summit in November this year.

그러면서 양측이 역내 평화, 안보, 안정을 유지하고 증진하는 데 헌신하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
He said both sides are committed to maintaining and promoting peace, security and stability in the region.

28항으로 구성된 공동 비전성명은 한반도 상황에 대한 목표도 제시했습니다.
The 28-point joint vision statement also set out goals for the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

[공동 비전성명] “We reaffirm a shared commitment to the goal of the complete denuclearization and the establishment of a permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula. We continue to call on the DPRK to fully comply with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, taking into account the international community’s call for diplomacy and in the interest of maintaining peace and security in the region.”
[Joint vision statement] "우리는 한반도의 완전한 비핵화와 항구적인 평화 정착이라는 목표에 대한 공동의 약속을 재확인합니다. 우리는 북한이 외교를 요구하고 지역의 평화와 안전을 유지하기 위해 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의안을 완전히 준수할 것을 지속적으로 촉구합니다."

양측은 비전성명에서 “한반도의 완전한 비핵화와 영구적인 평화 정착의 공통 목표를 재확인한다”고 밝혔습니다.
The two sides said in their vision statement that they "reaffirm the common goal of complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and permanent peace settlement."

이어 “우리는 외교에 대한 국제사회의 요구를 고려하고, 역내 평화와 안보 유지를 위해 북한이 관련 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의안들을 완전히 이행할 것을 계속 촉구한다”고 밝혔습니다.
"We consider the international community's demands for diplomacy and continue to urge North Korea to fully implement relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions to maintain peace and security in the region," he said.

한반도 관련 항목은 ‘평화 수호와 신뢰 구축’이라는 주제에 포함됐습니다.
Items related to the Korean Peninsula have been included in the theme of "Protecting peace and building trust."

미국과 아세안은 이 밖에 경제 관계 강화, 해상 협력 증진, 인적 연결 도모, 지역별 개발, 기술 활용과 혁신 증진, 기후변화 대응에 협력하기로 합의했습니다.
The United States and ASEAN have also agreed to strengthen economic relations, enhance maritime cooperation, promote human connectivity, develop regional development, promote technology utilization and innovation, and work together to respond to climate change.

바이든 대통령은 이날 국무부 청사에서 열린 정상회의에서 미국과 아세안이 새로운 시대에 들어서고 있다고 평가했습니다.
President Biden said at a summit held at the State Department building that the United States and ASEAN are entering a new era.

[녹취: 바이든 대통령] “We’re not only celebrating 45 years of partnership and friendship between the ASEAN and the U.S., we’re launching a new era in U.S. ASEAN relations.”
[Recording: President Biden] "우리는 아세안과 미국의 45년 파트너십과 우정을 축하할 뿐만 아니라, 미국 아세안 관계에 새로운 시대를 열고 있습니다."

바이든 대통령은 “우리는 미국과 아세안 간 45년의 파트너십과 우정을 기념할 뿐 아니라, 미국과 아시안 관계의 새로운 시대를 시작하고 있다”고 평가했습니다.
President Biden said, "We are not only celebrating 45 years of partnership and friendship between the United States and ASEAN, but we are also beginning a new era of American and Asian relations."

바이든 대통령은 그러면서 이번 정상회의를 통해 광범위한 문제들을 다뤘다며, 이는 태평양과 아세안 지역이 미국에 얼마나 중요한 지를 반영한다고 평가했습니다.
President Biden said the summit covered a wide range of issues, reflecting how important the Pacific and ASEAN regions are to the United States.

12일 회의는 미국과 아세안 정상회의 역사상 처음으로 백악관에서 열렸습니다.
The 12th meeting was held at the White House for the first time in the history of the U.S.-ASEAN summit.

이번 정상회의에는 브루나이, 캄보디아, 인도네시아, 라오스, 말레이시아, 싱가포르, 태국, 베트남, 필리핀 등 9개 나라가 초청 받았습니다.
Nine countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines were invited to the summit.

군부가 쿠데타로 정권을 장악한 미얀마는 초청받지 못했습니다.
Myanmar, where the military seized power in a coup, was not invited.
