중국 단둥 야적장에 트럭∙컨테이너 추정 물체 포착...육로 무역 재개 조짐 > 경제

중국 단둥 세관 야적장에서 최근 화물 트럭과 컨테이너로 추정되는 물체가 발견되고 있습니다. 육로를 통한 북중 무역이 재개된 것이라는 추정이 나옵니다. 함지하 기자가 보도합니다.
Objects believed to be cargo trucks and containers have recently been discovered at a customs yard in Dandong, China. It is estimated that trade between North Korea and China has resumed by land. Reporter Ham Ji-ha reports.

중국 단둥과 북한 신의주를 연결하는 ‘조중우의교’ 인근 중국 측 세관 야적장에서 변화가 포착됐습니다.
Changes were detected at the Chinese customs yard near the "Jojung Friendship Bridge" linking Dandong, China, and Sinuiju, North Korea.

‘플래닛 랩스(Planet Labs)’가 17일 이곳을 촬영한 위성사진에는 야적장 중심부 남쪽 부분을 채우고 있는 약 50m 길이의 대형 물체가 보입니다.
Satellite images taken by Planet Labs on the 17th show a large object about 50m long filling the southern part of the center of the yard.

위성사진의 화질이 낮아 물체의 종류를 알 수 없지만 과거 이곳에 화물 트럭 여러 대가 정차하거나 많은 양의 컨테이너가 쌓일 때와 유사한 모습입니다.
The image quality of the satellite image is low, so it is impossible to know the type of object, but it is similar to when several cargo trucks stopped here or a large amount of containers piled up here in the past.

이곳에선 약 열흘 전인 지난 7일에도 약 30m 길이의 연두색 물체가 식별됐습니다. 또 지난달 27일에는 가로 15m, 세로 25m의 사각형 물체가 야적장 한 켠을 채웠습니다.
About 10 days ago, on the 7th, a light green object about 30m long was also identified here. In addition, on the 27th of last month, a square object measuring 15m wide and 25m long filled one side of the yard.

이곳에서 발견된 물체가 무엇인지는 식별 불가능하지만 최근까지 이 야적장이 텅 비어있던 점을 감안하면 적지 않은 변화입니다.
It's impossible to identify what objects were found here, but it's a considerable change considering that the field was empty until recently.

가로 100m, 세로 60~80m 넓이의 세관 야적장은 북한 당국의 국경 봉쇄 이전까지만 해도 신의주 향발 컨테이너 트럭들로 북적였습니다. 그러나 신종 코로나바이러스 사태로 북한이 국경을 차단하면서 사실상 차량을 찾아보기 힘든 한산한 모습이 계속돼 왔습니다.
The customs yard, which is 100 meters wide and 60 to 80 meters long, was crowded with container trucks from Sinuiju until the North Korean authorities blocked the border. However, as North Korea blocked its borders due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, it has continued to be quiet, making it difficult to find vehicles.

그런데 최근 약 20일 사이 3차례나 트럭 혹은 화물로 추정되는 물체가 발견되면서 북한과 중국이 제한적으로나마 육로를 통한 무역을 재개한 것인지 주목됩니다.
However, as objects believed to be trucks or cargo have been discovered three times in the last 20 days, attention is being paid to whether North Korea and China have resumed trade through land, albeit limitedly.

이런 가운데 한국 '연합뉴스'는 복수의 소식통을 인용해 단둥과 신의주 간 화물 트럭 운행이 재개됐다고 17일 보도했습니다.
Meanwhile, South Korea's Yonhap News reported on the 17th that cargo trucks between Dandong and Sinuiju have resumed, citing multiple sources.

그러면서 이는 2020년 1월 국경 전면 봉쇄 이후 약 3년 10개월 만의 운행 재개라고 덧붙였습니다.
He added that this is the first resumption of operations in about three years and 10 months since the complete border blockade in January 2020.

이 보도의 진위 여부는 알 수 없지만 위성사진에서 실제로 양국 간 화물 트럭 운행 재개로 해석될 만한 움직임이 포착된 점은 주목되는 부분입니다.
The authenticity of this report is unknown, but it is noteworthy that satellite images actually captured a movement that could be interpreted as the resumption of cargo truck operations between the two countries.

북중 간 육로 무역이 재개된 것이라면 과거 북중 무역의 상당 부분이 국경지대 육로로 이뤄진 만큼 앞으로 양국 간 물동량은 지금보다 훨씬 더 많아질 것으로 전망됩니다.
If land trade between North Korea and China has resumed, the volume of goods between the two countries is expected to be much higher than now, as much of the trade between North Korea and China in the past was carried out by land over the border.
