미 하원에 한국 등 동맹국에 ‘LNG 수출 승인 가속화’ 법안 발의 > 경제

미국 하원에서 한국을 포함한 동맹국에 대한 액화천연가스(LNG) 수출 승인을 신속하게 처리할 수 있도록 하는 내용의 법안이 발의됐습니다. 북한 등 테러지원국에 대한 LNG 수출 면허 신청은 거부하도록 하는 내용도 법안에 담겼습니다. 이조은 기자가 보도합니다,
A bill has been proposed in the U.S. House of Representatives to expedite the approval of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to allies, including South Korea. The bill also calls for rejecting applications for LNG export licenses to terrorism-sponsoring countries such as North Korea. Reporter Lee Jo-eun reports

공화당의 어거스트 플루거 하원의원과 민주당의 헨리 쿨레아 하원의원이 최근 ‘동맹국을 위한 액화천연가스 법안’(LNG for Allies Act)을 공동 발의했습니다.
Republican Congressman August Plugger and Democratic Congressman Henry Kulea recently co-sponsored the LNG for Allies Act.

공화당의 마이크 갤러거 의원과 민주당의 빈센트 콘잘레즈 의원 등 9명의 의원도 법안 발의에 참여했습니다.
Nine lawmakers, including Republican Mike Gallagher and Democrat Vincent Conzalez, also participated in the bill.

법안은 한국, 일본, 호주, 뉴질랜드, 이스라엘과 같은 동맹국들에 대한 LNG 수출 면허 승인을 신속하게 처리할 수 있도록 기존의 천연가스법을 개정하는 내용입니다.
The bill calls for revising existing natural gas laws to expedite the approval of LNG export licenses for allies such as South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.

타이완, 우크라이나, 스웨덴, 몰도바, 핀란드 등 미국의 전략적 파트너국들에 대한 LNG 수출 승인도 가속할 수 있도록 하는 내용이 법안에 담겼습니다.
The bill also calls for accelerating LNG export approvals for U.S. strategic partners such as Taiwan, Ukraine, Sweden, Moldova and Finland.

반면 북한, 시리아, 이란 쿠바 등 테러지원국에 대한 LNG 수출 면허 신청은 거부하도록 했습니다.
On the other hand, the government refused to apply for LNG export licenses to terrorism-sponsoring countries such as North Korea, Syria, Iran, and Cuba.

법안은 동맹국과 전략적 파트너국에 대한 LNG 수출 면허 신청을 신속하게 승인하는 것은 “미국의 천연가스 수출업체들이 미국과 동맹국, 그리고 파트너국들의 전략적 이익과 국가안보 이익을 더 잘 지원하게 할 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
Rapid approval of LNG export licences for allies and strategic partners "will enable U.S. natural gas exporters to better support the strategic and national security interests of the United States, its allies, and its partners."
