미국-EU 고위급 외교 회담..."아프간, 러시아, 중국 문제 논의" > 세계

토니 블링컨 미국 국무장관이 조셉 보렐 유럽연합(EU) 외교∙안보 고위대표와 만나 미국과 EU 파트너십의 중요성을 강조했습니다.
U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinkon met with Joseph Borrell, a senior representative of the European Union (EU), to emphasize the importance of the U.S.-EU partnership.

블링컨 장관은 14일 국무부에서 열린 미국-EU 고위급 회담에 들어가기에 앞선 모두 발언에서 미국이 가장 먼저 찾는 파트너는 바로 유럽연합이라고 밝혔습니다.
Minister Blinkon said in a statement before entering a high-level U.S.-EU meeting held at the State Department on the 14th that the U.S. is the first partner to visit.

국무부는 이날 회담 후 발표한 성명에서 두 사람이 회담에서 아프가니스탄과 러시아, 중국 등에 대해 논의했다고 말했습니다.
The State Department said in a statement released after the meeting that the two discussed Afghanistan, Russia, and China at the meeting.

국무부는 올해 말 러시아에 대한 미국과 EU의 고위급 회담, 이어 중국에 대한 고위급 회담이 있을 것이라며 양측이 이를 기대하고 있다고 설명했습니다.
The State Department explained that there will be high-level talks between the U.S. and the EU on Russia later this year, followed by high-level talks on China, and that both sides are expecting this.

국무부는 또 두 사람이 올해 말 인도-태평양과 관련한 양측의 고위급 논의를 개최하는 데 합의했다고 밝혔습니다.
The State Department also said the two agreed to hold high-level discussions on the Indo-Pacific later this year.

블링컨 장관과 보렐 대표는 또 에너지 가격 상승과 이것이 세계 경제 회복에 미치는 영향에 대한 공동의 우려에 대해 논의했다며 미국과 EU의 에너지 위원회 장관 회의를 2022년 초에 개최하기로 합의했다고 덧붙였습니다.
Minister Blinkon and CEO Borel also discussed common concerns about rising energy prices and their impact on global economic recovery, adding that they agreed to hold a meeting of ministers of the U.S. and EU energy committees in early 2022.

이날 회담에서 블링컨 장관은 북대서양조약기구, 나토(NATO)와 보다 더 강력하고 유능한 EU 방위에 대해 미국이 지지하고 있다는 점을 재확인했습니다.
At the meeting, Minister Blinkon reaffirmed that the U.S. supports stronger and more competent EU defense with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO.
