북한, 코로나 사망자 26명...김정은 "건국 이래 대동란" 주장 > 사회

북한에서 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증이 확산하는 가운데 13일 하루 동안 전국에서 17만 4천 400여 명의 발열 환자가 새로 발생하고 21명이 사망했다고 북한 당국이 밝혔습니다.
North Korean authorities say more than 174,400 new fever cases and 21 deaths occurred nationwide during the day on the 13th amid the spread of the new coronavirus infection in North Korea.

북한 노동당 기관지 ‘노동신문’은 14일 김정은 국무위원장이 주재한 정치국협의회에서 국가비상방역사령부가 이같이 보고했다고 전했습니다.
The Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the North's ruling Workers' Party, said on the 14th that the National Emergency Quarantine Command reported this at the Council of Politburo presided over by Chairman Kim Jong-un.

보도에 따르면 4월 말부터 전날까지 총 발열자는 52만 4천 440여 명, 이 중 28만여 명이 치료를 받고 있으며 사망자는 21명입니다.
According to reports, from the end of April to the previous day, the total number of fever patients was 524,440, of which 280,000 were being treated, and 21 were killed.

또 코로나가 빠르게 확산하는 이유로 과학적인 치료 방법을 잘 알지 못한 것과 약물 과다복용 등 과실로 인해 인명피해가 초래됐다는 통보가 있었다고 보도했습니다.
It also reported that the reason for the rapid spread of COVID-19 was that there was a notification that the scientific treatment method was not well known and that negligence such as overdose caused casualties.

지난 2년 3개월 이상 국경을 봉쇄한 채 백신을 수용하지 않고 코로나 청정국을 주장하던 김정은 위원장은 이날 회의에서 “악성 전염병의 전파가 건국 이래 대동란이라고 할 수 있다”며 기존과 다른 목소리를 냈습니다.
Chairman Kim Jong-un, who had blocked the border for more than two years and three months and insisted on a COVID-19 clean country without accepting vaccines, said at the meeting, "The spread of malicious infectious diseases can be said to be a great turmoil since its foundation."

하지만 방역 실패에 대한 대국민 사과나 백신 공급 계획을 언급하지 않은 채 강한 조직력과 통제력을 통한 방역 투쟁을 거듭 강조해 한국이나 국제사회와의 협력 가능성은 여전히 불투명한 상황입니다.
However, the possibility of cooperation with Korea and the international community remains unclear as they repeatedly emphasized the struggle for quarantine through strong organizational power and control without mentioning a public apology for the failure or a vaccine supply plan.

앞서 한국의 윤석열 정부는 북한 주민에게 코로나 백신 등 의약품을 지원할 방침이라고 밝혔고, 미국 국무부는 13일 VOA에, 이런 남북협력을 강력히 지지한다고 밝혔습니다.
South Korea's Yoon Seok-yeol government said earlier that it will provide North Koreans with medicines such as COVID-19, and the U.S. State Department said on the 13th that it strongly supports such inter-Korean cooperation to VOA.

국무부는 그러나 현재 미국 정부 차원의 대북 백신 공유 계획은 없으며, 인도주의적 차원의 국제 노력을 계속 지지한다고 덧붙였습니다.
The State Department, however, added that there are currently no U.S. government-level vaccine sharing plans and that it continues to support international efforts at the humanitarian level.

이런 가운데 일부 전문가와 북한 의사 출신 탈북민들은 13일 VOA에, 비현실적인 국경봉쇄로 경제난이 악화한 데 따른 주민들의 점증하는 불만을 잠재우기 위해 북한 당국이 코로나를 핑계로 삼고 있다며, 이런 체제 결속 목적 때문에 김정은이 주민들의 건강 보호를 위해 백신 지원 등 국제협력을 요청할 가능성은 적다고 전망했습니다.
Some experts and former North Korean defectors told VOA on the 13th that the North Korean authorities are using COVID-19 as an excuse to quell growing complaints about the worsening economic crisis caused by the unrealistic border blockade, and that it is unlikely that Kim Jong-un will ask for international cooperation.
