유엔, 북한 인권 자료 매년 10~12건 한국어 번역 발표 > 사회

한국이 9일 한글날을 기념한 가운데 유엔이 북한 인권과 관련해 해마다 10~12건의 보고서를 한국어로 번역해 발표하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
While South Korea celebrated Hangeul Day on the 9th, the United Nations said it is releasing 10 to 12 reports on North Korean human rights every year in Korean.

서울 유엔인권사무소는 VOA에, 유엔 사무총장이 매년 유엔총회에 제출하는 북한 인권 상황 보고서와 유엔 인권최고대표가 유엔 인권이사회에 제출하는 보고서, 유엔 북한인권 특별보고관이 두 기구에 제출하는 정기 보고서와 연설 등 매년 10~12건을 한국어로 번역하고 있다고 소개했습니다.
The U.N. Human Rights Office in Seoul told VOA that it translates 10 to 12 cases into Korean every year, including a report on North Korean human rights submitted to the U.N. Human Rights Council by the U.N. Chief Human Rights Representative.

또 별도로 인터넷 사회 관계망 서비스를 통해 북한 인권 관련 주요 메시지를 한국어로 번역해 알리고 있다며 “한국어 구사자들이 우리의 모든 공공자료에 접근할 수 있도록 노력하고 있다”고 강조했습니다.
He also said, "We are trying to allow Korean speakers to access all our public materials," while translating and informing major messages related to North Korean human rights into Korean through Internet social network services.

인권기록 조사단체인 ‘전환기정의워킹그룹’(TJWG)과탈북민 단체 ‘노체인’ 등 시민사회단체들은 최근 VOA에, 유엔과 국제 인권단체들의 한국어 번역이 지난 1~2년 사이에 많이 증가했다며 한국 매체의 신속한 보도를 통한 대북 인권 개선 압박과 심각성을 알리는 데 큰 도움이 된다고 말했습니다.
Civil society organizations such as the Human Rights Record Investigation Group (TJWG) and the North Korean defector group "Nochein" told VOA that the Korean translation of the UN and international human rights groups has increased a lot over the past year or two, helping to promote pressure and seriousness of human rights improvement in North Korea.

호주 대법관 출신인 마이클 커비 전 유엔 북한인권 조사위원장도 최근 VOA에, 청년 등 북한 주민들이 세상 소식에 더욱 갈급해 하고 있다며, 조사위원회의 최종보고서와 세계인권선언 등의 번역본이 더 많이 북한으로 들어가 주민들이 자신의 권리를 깨닫도록 해야 한다고 말했었습니다.
Michael Kirby, former chairman of the U.N. Human Rights Investigation Committee, also told VOA that North Koreans, including young people, are more anxious about the news of the world, and that more translations of the committee's final report and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights should go into North Korea to realize their rights.
