도요타, 북한 ‘렉서스 포착’에 “제재·수출통제 철저 준수” > 정치

북한 김정은 국무위원장의 이동 행렬에서 일본 고급차가 포착된 것과 관련해 차량 제조사가 제재를 철저히 준수하고 있다는 입장을 밝혔습니다. 유엔은 대북 결의를 통해 고급차뿐 아니라 모든 운송 수단의 대북 수출을 금지하고 있습니다. 조상진 기자가 보도합니다.
In connection with the detection of Japanese luxury cars in the procession of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the vehicle manufacturer has expressed its position that it is thoroughly complying with sanctions. 일본의 자동차 기업 도요타가 자사 고급 차량이 북한에서 포착된 데 대해 제재 준수를 위한 노력을 강조했습니다.
Japanese automaker Toyota has stressed efforts to comply with sanctions over the sighting of its luxury vehicles in North Korea.

도요타 본사 기업홍보실은 4일 VOA의 관련 질의에 “도요타는 수출 통제 및 제재법을 포함해 우리가 사업을 운영하는 각 국가 또는 지역의 법률 및 규정을 철저히 준수하는데 전념하고 있다”고 답했습니다.
Toyota's corporate promotion office at Toyota's headquarters responded to VOA's related inquiries on the 4th, saying, "Toyota is committed to thorough compliance with the laws and regulations of each country or region where we operate our business, including export control and sanctions laws."

앞서 북한 대외 관영 ‘조선중앙TV’가 최근 보도한 영상에 따르면 김 위원장은 평안남도 성천군 지방공업공장 건설 착공식에 참석하는 길에 독일 메르세데스 벤츠의 마이바흐 전용 차량을 타고 이동했습니다.
According to a video recently reported by North Korea's foreign state-run "Chosun Central TV," Kim traveled in a Maybach car of a German Mercedes Benz on his way to a groundbreaking ceremony to build a local industrial plant in Seongcheon-gun, Pyongannam-do.

바로 앞에는 전용차를 호위하기 위해 일본 도요타사의 고급 브랜드 렉서스(Lexus)의 대형 SUV 차량인 LX 모델로 추정되는 차량이 경호 차로 등장했습니다.

해당 차량은 미국 판매 기준으로 신차 가격이 최소 미화 9만 4천 달러에 달하는 고가 차량입니다.

사치품에 해당하는 고가 차량뿐 아니라 모든 운송 수단은 유엔 대북제재 결의 1718호와 2094호에 따라 북한으로의 수출이나 이전이 금지돼 있습니다.

북한에서 지난해 말부터 잇따라 고가의 해외 수입 차량이 포착되면서 제재 위반 지적이 이어졌습니다.
Since late last year, North Korea has detected a series of expensive imported vehicles, leading to criticism of sanctions violations.

앞서 북한 대외관영 ‘조선중앙통신’은 지난해 12월 27일 열린 노동당 중앙위원회 제8기 제9차 전원회의 관련 보도에서 내각총리 김덕훈과 당 조직비서 조용원, 최고인민회의 상임위원장 최룡해 등 북한 최고위급 간부들이 각각 독일 ‘메르세데스 벤츠’사의 최고급 세단인 ‘S 클래스’를 타고 회의장에 도착하는 장면을 공개했습니다.
Earlier, in a report on the 8th 9th plenary session of the Workers' Party's Central Committee held on December 27 last year, North Korea's top-level officials, including Prime Minister Kim Deok-hoon, party organizational secretary Cho Yong-won, and Supreme People's Assembly Standing Committee Chairman Choi Ryong-hae, respectively, arrived at the conference hall in the S Class, a luxury sedan from Germany's Mercedes Benz.

이에 대해 벤츠 독일 본사는 VOA에 “언론에 보도된 사진에 나온 차량에 대해 철저히 조사하고 있다”며 유입 경위를 확인 중이라고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
In response, Mercedes-Benz's German headquarters told VOA that it is "thoroughly investigating the vehicle in the photos reported in the media" and is checking the inflow.

또 올해 1월에도 김 위원장이 벤츠가 생산하는 최고급 브랜드 ‘메르세데스-마이바흐 GLS 600’ 차량을 타고 또다시 등장한 데 대해 벤츠 사는 VOA에 “새로운 사진을 매우 철저히 조사하고 있다”면서 “북한과 같은 국가와는 사업을 허용하지 않는다는 점을 강조하고 싶다”고 밝혔었습니다.
In January this year, when Chairman Kim reappeared in a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 car, a high-end brand produced by Mercedes, Mercedes told VOA, "We are investigating the new photo very thoroughly," adding, "I want to emphasize that we do not allow business with countries like North Korea."
