문재인 한국 대통령이 15일 윌리엄 번스 미국 중앙정보국(CIA) 국장을 접견했습니다.
South Korean President Moon Jae In met William Burns, director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), on the 15th.

번스 국장의 방한은 CIA 국장 취임 이후 이번이 처음입니다.
This is the first time Director Burns has visited Korea since taking office as Director of the CIA director.

청와대는 문 대통령과 번스 국장이 이날 접견에서 한반도 정세 등에 대해 폭넓은 의견을 교환했다고 밝혔습니다.
Cheong Wa Dae said President Moon and Director Burns exchanged broad opinions on the situation on the Korean Peninsula at an interview.

번스 국장은 접견에서 문 대통령이 보여준 한반도 평화 정착 의지와 노력에 깊은 존경을 표한다고 말했습니다.
Director Burns said in an interview that he deeply respects President Moon's willingness and efforts to settle peace on the Korean Peninsula.

문 대통령은 "한미동맹은 우리 안보의 근간"이라며 양국 간의 긴밀한 정보협력은 굳건한 한미동맹을 지탱하는 힘이라고 강조했습니다.
President Moon said, "The Korea-U.S. alliance is the basis of our security," stressing that close information cooperation between the two countries is the power to support the solid Korea-U.S. alliance.

나아가 국제범죄와 테러, 사이버 등으로 확대되고 있는 정보협력이 더욱 심화, 발전해 나가기를 바란다고 문 대통령은 덧붙였습니다.
President Moon added that he hopes that information cooperation, which is expanding to international crimes, terrorism, and cyber, will intensify and develop.

한편, 복수의 한국 언론은 정부 소식통을 인용해 에브릴 헤인스 미국 국가정보국(DNI) 국장이 오는 17일 한국을 방문한다고 보도했습니다.
Meanwhile, multiple Korean media quoted government sources and reported that Evril Haynes, director of the U.S. National Intelligence Service (DNI), will visit Korea on the 17th.

국가정보국 국장은 CIA와 연방수사국(FBI) 등 미국의 15개 정보기관을 총괄하는 자리입니다.
The Director of the National Intelligence Service is in charge of 15 intelligence agencies in the United States, including the CIA and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
